Reader offers 'Natural Law' quiz
The American Founding Fathers understood the thinking of Marcus Tellius Cicero with respect to "Natural Law." Natural Law is that which the Supreme Creator established. Natual Law has the fundamental presupposition that man has a mind capable of using a rational approach to solving problems, and that reasoning of the mind will generally lead to common-sense conclusions. Thomas Jefferson made reference to the thinking of Cicero when he wrote the words, "the laws of Nature and Nature's God" in the Declaration of Independence.

Quarantine lifted for Moses Lake dairy
Reader questions senator's dedication to protecting Second Amendment
Grant County citizens I am writing this to make you aware that in this month of April, 2013 The United States Senate narrowly voted down a bill that would have given the UN via the UN Gun Control Treaty the right to confiscate and control the gun rights of all US citizens. The treaty made no distinctions between military and civilian arms, thus it would totally override your Second Amendment rights to bear arms. It is important that you know which senators are traitors to United States and want the UN have authority to void our Republic and our inalienable rights. Senator Maria Cantwell was one of the 46 senators who voted for the UN treaty to take your gun rights. The vote was close citizens and thankfully it was defeated 53-46 but no thanks to your un-American Senator Cantwell. I suggest next time you vote you think twice about your liberty and what it takes to remain free in our state and county. Remember if they get the Second Amendment the rest fall with it!

Patricia Anita Samples
Patricia Samples a long time Moses Lake resident passed away in the arms of her loving family on Friday, April 5 after a long illness. She grew up in Winfield, Alabama but had lived all over the southern United States to include Texas, Tennessee, Vegas and California. Pat was a retired Registered Nurse. She loved helping people and would lend a helping hand be it giving money to someone in need or actually bringing them home with her. She loved watching Vampire and science fiction movies with her kids and passed that to her children. She loved to camp and picnic and was quite the dancer in her youth. She had a great love of good music and appreciated a good dance in the living room. Pat began with very humble beings from an EXTREMELY poverty stricken home and difficult life during the depression to excelling in school and putting herself through college to pursue her nursing career. She had an extreme love of animals and was a long-time supporter of the Grant County Animal Outreach. She would prefer in lieu of flowers donations to the animal outreach at www.grantcountyanimaloutreach.com or mail donations to 6725 Randolph Road, Moses Lake, WA 98837. Her appreciation for Manta Ray swim team during Gladys' swimming caused great joy to her as a family atmosphere as swim team members as well as her family. Pat LOVED belonging to the swim team during the summers and looked forward to swim meets wherever they may be. She had an awesome generous heart, she gave so much to so many and never thought twice about making a sacrifice if she could help or give to someone else. She always wanted to give to her children as she went without a great deal. She was even more generous with herself towards her grandchildren and spent a great deal of time playing and enjoying them. Time well spent on the floor playing dolls, cars or making doll houses out of magazine pages and cardboard boxes. Wonderful members her family will treasure. Her great grandchildren were "precious" and she could not have loved them anymore. Her last smiles were of those who she loved the most, Darrel and her kids. She loved and cherished all and they were blessed for this unconditional love.
