WENATCHEE - Brendon Cox carded a 71,Tanner Montgomery was six strokes back with a 77, and four other Chiefs broke 90 to lead Moses Lake to its second POD match win of the season April 15.

Cox was low round medalist on the Par 69 3-Lakes Golf Course in Wenatchee. Montgomery tied for second. Trent Jones shot 80, Brody Milbrandt turned in an 81, Kellan Roellich had an 84, and Nick Sutherland finished his round with an 86.

"Brenden continues to play great golf. He bogeyed his first two holes and was able to play the next 16 holes at even par. He is making good golf decisions on the course and those decisions are preventing him from making big mistakes," coach JR Cox said. "Tanner played well again. He started a little off but finished very strong to tie for second. Trent played in his second varsity match this year and he played steady golf with his 80. He is really coming along and that is great to see."

Eastmont and Wenatchee tied for second place with a team score of 337. Sunnyside (357) came in fourth, Eisenhower (385) was fifth, and Davis finished sixth with 414.

The win for Moses Lake cements the Chiefs in first place in the Big 9 standings.

"We still have two league POD's left, and have three or four guys in the mix for Player of The Year," Cox said. "So the next couple of weeks will be exciting to watch."

Moses Lake is back on the links April 26 for POD 4 at Apple Tree in Yakima.
