Woman hurt in crash near Ephrata

EPHRATA - A young woman from Wenatchee was injured on March 27 in a two-car crash on Highway 28 three miles west of the Ephrata. The driver of the other vehicle, man, was not hurt.

The injured woman was Ashly R. Carver, 20, of Wenatchee, driving a 2000 Dodge Neon. She was wearing her seatbelt but was hurt and required transport to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake. Her vehicle was totaled.

The second driver was Clary S. Sainsbury, 65, of Moses Lake. He was driving a 1999 Ford 250 pickup and wore his seatbelt. His vehicle was towed to a private driveway.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Sainsbury was stopped at a private driveway along the highway. Carver was eastbound on 28, and her vehicle was struck by the pickup when Sainsbury failed to yield the right-of-way.
