MOSES LAKE - The work of regional artists will be auctioned during the Columbia Basin Allied Arts' annual Art Soiree on Friday.

Attendees will have the chance to bid on about 18 pieces of art, as well as on other items donated by Basin businesses, said event Chairwoman Barbi Schachtschneider.

The event starts at 6 p.m. and will be held at the Masto Conference Center in Big Bend Community College's ATEC building, 7662 Chanute St. NE, Moses Lake.

Tickets for the event are $50 each and can be purchased by calling 509-793-2059.

The event is a chance for Basin residents to enjoy local and regional art, Schachtschneider said. Most of the pieces were done by Grant County artists, with the exception of four pieces that came from a couple in Idaho, she said.

Free Beer Nuts will provide live music during the auction. The band plays at various Moses Lake venues, including The Porterhouse and Imbibe.

There will also be appetizers and a beer and wine tasting offered.

The lineup for the upcoming season, which starts in September, has already been arranged. Guests will get a first look at the lineup during the auction.

Moses Lake artist Melea Johnson's abstract painting, "After the Day," will be the focus of the auction, according to a previous Columbia Basin Herald article.
