Mel Clink

Mel was born in Spokane, Washington on March 20, 1944. A lifelong resident of Moses Lake passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Columbia Crest Care & Rehabilitation Center from Parkinson's disease complicated by pneumonia. Services will be held at 2 pm, Monday, April 29th, 2013 at Kayser's Chapel in Moses Lake. Burial will follow at Guarding Angels Cemetery, 2595 Rd. L NE, Moses Lake, WA. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory.

Mel grew up on the family farm with his sister Norma in Cascade Valley. Mel farmed and raised cattle for several years. He retired from the Grant County Road District after 30 years.

In 1971 Mel married Marlynna Vander Vloedt. A son and daughter were born from this marriage - Shannon Lee and Shannon Marlee Clink. Mel enjoyed being a father to Marlynna's two daughters Sherri and Shelli.

In 1980 Mel met the love of his life - Betty McEachran. They were married May 1, 1999 and spent 33 amazing years together. Mel helped to raise Betty's two children - Jennifer, and Jimmy.

After retirement Mel and Betty spent many weekends at their property in Newport, WA then later at their property near Porcupine Bay.

In his spare time, Mel enjoyed fast cars, motorcycles, boating, dancing, gambling and spending time with his friends at McDonald's everyday at 3 p.m.

Mel is survived by his wife, Betty Clink and daughter Shannon Ray; two stepchildren Jimmy McEachran and his wife Nicole, and Jennifer Larson. He had two grandchildren and six step grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Norma Davey and nieces Karla Gust and Darla Shaver.

Mel is preceded in death by his parents Leslie Melvin Clink and Thelma Mae Spray; an infant son Shannon Lee Clink and nephew Donnie Davey.
