Moses Lake woman unharmed by Boston Marathon explosion

BOSTON - A Moses Lake woman running in the Boston Marathon was about a quarter-mile away from the finish line when bombs went off at the event Monday, but is okay.

Jodi O'Shea texted "was about a quarter-mile away when the explosions went off, getting my warm clothing." O'Shea was one of four local residents running in the 2013 Marathon, and finished at about 11:20 a.m. Pacific Time

She was just ahead of Ashley Garza of Moses Lake, who finished about two minutes later. Sam Barnes, Ephrata, finished about 20 minutes before the two women. Grant Curtis, Othello, finished about about 10:40 a.m. Pacific Time, according to information on the event website.

Two bombs exploded near the finish line at about 3 p.m. local time, noon Pacific Time, according to the Associated Press. At least two people have been reported killed, and an unknown number are injured.

The AP is reporting that two additional explosive devices were found in the vicinity of the race, and there are reports of a third explosion at JFK Library.
