Darwin Dale (Budd) Westphalen, 82 passed away Friday April 19, 2013. Memorial Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Kayser's Chapel. Budd was born April 7, 1931 on a farm near Scottsbluff Nebraska, to Henry and Zoe Westphalen. Budd graduated from Scottsbluff NE, and shortly after he joined the Air Force. He met and married Jessica Louise Sheely of Okanogan, before his honorable discharge in 1954. They moved to Scottsbluff briefly before returning to Washington. Moving to Moses Lake in 1960s he worked for Boeing and later OK Tires. After retiring, Budd worked part time for Mardon Resort before becoming a snowbird. Budd enjoyed all his friends, traveling to Arizona, four wheeling, fishing, golf, swimming, playing cards, listening to his good old music, and a cold beer now and then.

A longtime resident of Moses Lake, Budd is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jessica Louise Westphalen, his three daughters and son, Linda and Mike Kuest of Odessa, Debra and Jeff Thompson of Moses Lake, Diana and Jim Lange of Omak, and David Westphalen of Moses Lake.

He is also survived by his 7 grandkids and their families: Michael Kuest and his son Briley, Nicholas Kuest, Cassandra Lange and Jessica Lange, Frank and Twany Westphalen of Medford Oregon, and their sons Landon and Skyler, Tim and Racheal Fries of Twin Falls Idaho, and their sons Dalton and Guage, and Brian Westphalen.

Budd is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and an aunt and sister-in-law that he loved very much, and many friends.

Budd is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Ardell Launer, and Sabina Kautz, and his brother Don Westphalen.
