| April 22, 2013 6:00 AM

WARDEN - A Moses Lake man died Wednesday evening in a one-vehicle collision on a private road near Warden.

Grant County deputies responded to the collision about 5:45 p.m. on a private road east of Road 7 Southeast and Road R Southeast.

Jerry Kinkade, 53, of Moses Lake, was driving a 1998 Ford Windstar east on the private road. He reportedly lost control of the vehicle and struck a small irrigation ditch after rolling down an embankment, according to the sheriff's office. The vehicle then rolled onto its side. Kinkade was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kinkaid was reportedly not wearing a seat belt at the time and alcohol was determined to be a factor, according to the sheriff's office.

"This is truly a tragic event. My thoughts and prayers are with the family," Sheriff Tom Jones said.
