MOSES LAKE - For the second time this year, a building at Busby International, Inc. was burglarized in Moses Lake.

According to Superintendent Steve Standley on Tuesday, unknown suspects broke into the fenced property sometime during the weekend when the Wheeler Road business was closed. An employee at the business reported the break-in just before noon Monday.

A door to a storage building on the property was found broken and several thousand pounds of I-beam steel was taken from the northwest lot, according to a Moses Lake police report. Standley said most of what was taken is scrap metal and he has not yet calculated the value of the material stolen.

The ignitions to two off-road vehicles were damaged and a window on a truck inside the building was broken.

Two vehicles parked outside were damaged and tires slashed.

Officers found truck tire marks in the field but no arrests have been made.

Standley said this is the second time this year the property was burglarized. He said subjects usually break or cut a hole in the fence surrounding the property.

Standley added several other businesses in the industrial area have been burglarized in recent months.

Busby International, Inc. is a full service steel fabrication shop.
