TOPPENISH - The Ephrata Tigers put back-to-back wins together on the links over the past five days.

The girls finished first out of 22 teams at the Par 70 Suntides Golf Course in Yakima April 18, and were the top cats at the Central Washington League Meet in Toppenish Monday, April 22.

Leading the way for Ephrata at Suntides was Kendal Sage who finished fourth among the competition with a round of 87. Teammates Katie Hilliard (93) and Tressa Davis (96) finished sixth and 10th respectively.

"The girls played amazing. It was the best round of golf as a team I have seen from them," coach Heidi Burns said. "They have been working hard to improve their golf games, so I'm hoping this is a huge confidence builder and that they continue to play this way the rest of the season."

The Tigers continued to stroke the ball well Monday with a first place finish in Toppenish. Ephrata shot 376 as a team, Ellensburg finished second with 487 and host Toppenish came in third with a team score of 499. Sage set the pace once again for Ephrata, carding an 86. Davis shot 90, Hilliard turned in a 95, Kailey Lieuallen came in at 105, Zoe Tanner had a 109, and Kaitlyn Autry shot 119.

The Tigers were back on the links for the Suncadia Invite in Roslyn, but the results of the match were not available at press time.

OTHELLO - It's especially satisfying when you place first at your own invite. And that's just what the Huskies did Monday when Othello matched up with East Valley, Selah and Grandview in Central Washington Athletic Conference (CWAC) league action.

The Huskies finished the round with a score of 404, the Red Devils were second with 469, and Vikings third with 519. The Greyhounds team score was incomplete.

Othello's Kylie Kummer was low round medalist with a 93. Teammate Hayley Guse finished second with a 98, and Makalya Parris, third after carding a 100.

The Huskies were back in action Tuesday at the Suncadia Invite as well, but the results are yet to be posted.
