Moses Lake to host bass fishing championship

MOSES LAKE - Cascade Marina in Moses Lake will be the site of the second annual FLW Outdoors and Bass Federation Washington State High School Team Bass Fishing Championship May 11.

The competition is open to all high school students who are able to field a two-person team and boater. The winners will advance to the Northwest Conference Championship, and have an opportunity to qualify for the National High School Championship. Both events are held in conjunction with the collegiate conference and collegiate national championships.

"National champions will receive a $5,000 scholarship for each team member," Washington State Bass Federation Youth Director Dave Bruggman said. "Winners of the High School World Finals, which are held July 14-20 in Russellville, Arkansas will receive $20,000 scholarships for both team members."

Those interested in competing in team championship event, are required to become members of the Washington State Bass Federation. The cost to join per person is $25.
