OTHELLO - Cervanto Fuentes (Jonathan Lopez) broke a 1-1 tie at the 42nd minute of play, and Isaac Lopez put the nail in the coffin at the 69 minute mark to give Toppenish a 3-1 win on the road in Othello Tuesday.

The Wildcats got on the board first on a goal by Armando Robles (Eliseo Alcala) seven minutes into the contest.

The Huskies Christian Hernandez, tied the game 1-1 at the 28th minute. The score held up until Fuentes found the back of the Othello box two minutes into the second half of action to push the Wildcats lead to 2-1.

Lopez made it 3-1 off of Jonathan Lopez' second assist of the match with 11 minute left to play.

"We had a chance to tie the match 2-2, but missed a penalty kick," coach Bernie Garza said. "They got a goal late to seal it."

Keeper Oliver Sanchez had four saves on the day for Toppenish. Angel Rangel recorded six for the Huskies.

The loss to he Wildcats drops Othello to 3-4 in Central Washington Athletic Conference (CWAC) play, and 6-8 overall and puts the Huskies in a precarious situation as the team needs to win out to make the playoffs.

Othello was back on the pitch Wednesday for a nonleague home match against the East Valley Red Devils, but the results of the contest were not available at press time.
