Man allegedly pulls gun out during dispute

EPHRATA - A Moses Lake man was arrested April 2 after he allegedly pulled a gun and threatened to kill one of his wife's friends.

Jose Rodriguez, 51, was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine. He is currently in custody at the Grant County Jail.

Moses Lake police were dispatched to a residence on Carswell Drive when they received a call from the victim reporting that he had a gun pointed at him and his life threatened.

According to the victim's statement, he was helping a friend who has allegedly been a victim of domestic violence from her husband, Rodriguez.

At the time of the incident she was reportedly at the court house seeking a protection order from Rodriguez, court documents said.

The victim stated that Rodriguez had been harassing him all week and that day he pulled up in his car outside of the Carswell Drive residence and wouldn't leave.

When the victim came outside to tell Rodriguez to leave Rodriguez allegedly pulled out a gun, pointed it at the victim and threatened to kill him.

Rodriguez left and the victim was able to get back inside of his house to notify police, according to court documents.

Rodriguez was apprehended at his workplace and booked into Grant County Jail, according to the police report.
