Like many of the noxious weeds on our list, this weed likes to grow along roadsides, field edges, waste areas and areas where the soil has been disturbed. This means that this plant is not as widespread as Class C weeds, but it has been seen here. Recently, there have been some sightings along Road 23 near Pinto Ridge Road.

Schools benefit the whole community
But you do use the public schools, Robert Meade. You wrote a letter to the editor titled “Unjust property tax vote” published in the CBH on March 9. You expected there to be a literate public who could read your letter and understand your five paragraphs of argument. Writing a public letter assumes a literate public, which is made possible by public schools that teach literacy. The assumptions that make your letter possible undermine your message. Please accept that we all benefit when there is an educated public made possible by public schools.
