| March 28, 2017 1:00 AM

ROYAL CITY — Two Royal City women were injured when the car they were in collided with a pickup at the Royal Avenue entrance to Royal City on Wednesday, March 15, just after noon.

Taken by ambulance to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake was Cynthia J. Bartlett, 46. Taken by Lifeflight to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland was Griselda G. Munter, 45. Both were using proper safety restraints.

Munter was a passenger in a gray/black 2014 Dodge Challenger 2-door that was driven by Bartlett. It finished uphill from Royal Avenue straddling the center line of Highway 26. It was impounded by Royal Towing.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision occurred after Jackson Noftle, 21, of Royal City failed to yield right of way at the intersection of Royal Avenue and Highway 26.

The WSP reported that Noftle, driving a red 2000 Ford 150 pickup, stopped at the intersection but then pulled into the path of the Bartlett vehicle.

The WSP said alcohol and drugs were not a factor. Noftle was wearing a proper safety restraint and was uninjured. The pickup was driven from the scene.

The WSP cited Noftle for “failure to yield right of way.”
