Republicans not getting what they bargained for

| March 16, 2017 3:00 AM

“The East Side” is known to be a GOP stronghold and there are many thoughtful, intelligent Republicans here who are proud of their party (or at least what use to be their party). They voted faithfully with jobs, healthcare costs, immigration enforcement and the economy in mind.

I’m just wondering, now that those campaign promises are being implemented and are on the verge of disrupting our local economy, are you feeling duped? Are you fearful of the impacts on your household, family, and friends?

If you have come to the conclusion that the current administration is out of control, then now is the time for all of us to work together. Let’s solve these problems by speaking up to your representatives and letting them know that this is not the GOP you believe in and are proud of. All of us can work together, across party lines, for affordable health care, beneficial trade agreements, reasonable immigration enforcement, and the creation of a workforce that benefits our economy and is implemented rationally. Let your voice be heard.

Contact federal senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell, Congressional Rep. Dan Newhouse, state Senator Judy Warnick, and state representatives Matt Manweller, and Tom Dent. Let them know this is not what you voted for. You were duped.
