Patricia Lynn McCullough

| March 16, 2017 3:00 AM

February 27, 1969 – March 13, 2017

Patricia Lynn McCullough joined her father for a play-date with every dog she’d ever said goodbye to on Monday, March 13, 2017. She was one of those people who made an impression on everyone she met; first by her height and beautiful long hair (which much to her dismay bore a striking resemblance to Celine Dion) and second by the passion she had for everything she did.

Tricia was born in Yakima, Wash. to Bob and Shirley McCullough on Feb. 27, 1969. She attended Othello schools, graduating in 1987 and then went on to the University of Idaho where she received her dietician certification. After working in several restaurants, she found her true calling: serving others. Tricia started her health care career working in hospitals and joined Avalon Health Care where she worked for the last 10 years. In true Trish style, she sought the role which would give her the largest ability to improve the care for others and excelled beyond her dietician training to become an Administrator. She worked as the Administrator of Avalon Care Center-Federal Way until her passing. Trish was a dietician by training, an opinion giver by choice and a loyal friend to those she cared for. She was always rooting for the underdog and would give her last cent (literally) to someone in need.

Tricia was a connoisseur of vintage jewelry and the perfectly prepared steak, but nothing had her heart quite like her three nephews. She was always up for anything with “her” boys, be it a late-night phone conversation or surprising them with their favorite new gadget. After catching the travel bug from her Mom at a young age, Tricia loved to get away to any place she had the chance. Mexico was her destination of choice, but she also loved her weekends sitting on the patio of her condo at Sunserra. She treasured her Irish heritage and even once tried to get back into the United States with her Irish passport, much to the customs officers’ dismay.

Tricia is survived by her mother, Shirley, her sister Lisa (Kent) Karstetter and her three nephews Mitchell, Austin and Brady Karstetter and her two best friends Matt Strange and Christopher Spain. She was proceeded in death by her father Bob McCullough and her brother Kevin McCullough.

A Irish-style celebration of life will take place on Saturday, March 18 at 4 p.m. the Othello Golf Course, 2269 W Mockingbird Lane. Othello. The family suggests memorials be made to your local animal shelter, a cause near and dear to Tricia. To leave an online condolence to the family, please visit our website at www.stevensfc.com.
