February 27, 1952 – March 8, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved “Saint” Cheryl Ferguson. Cheryl passed peacefully March 8 at her home with family by her side following a brief battle with cancer. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt whose greatest passion was helping others. Cheryl had a profound impact on anyone she met.

Cheryl’s life began February 27, 1952, in Spokane, Wash. Her parents were Allan and Carla Rae Eckhart. In 1973 Cheryl met and married Mike Ferguson. After finishing college in Cheney, Mike and Cheryl moved to Moses Lake where they have resided since. Daughter Jessica was born in 1976 followed by son Lanny in 1978. Over the years Cheryl touched countless lives with her in home day care business, teaching at the Moses Lake Parks and Rec preschool, involvement with Special Olympics, teaching at the Marlin Hutterian Brethren and providing for the elderly. Cheryl has had a hand in raising over half the kids in Moses Lake. Not only will she be missed, she will never be forgotten.

Cheryl was preceded in death by both her parents, her father-in-law Roy, her mother-in-law Lu, two nephews, her best friend Jan and most recently her son Lanny. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Mike Ferguson; her daughter Jessica Fabian, her grandchildren Austi, and Addyson Fabian and Ava Ferguson; her stepfather Frank Deshaw; her stepmother Janice Eckhart; her mother-in-law Jean Ferguson; her sisters Meralee (Mark) Ferguson and Lisa Schuler; her brothers Randi (Amy) Eckhart, Brian (Elonda) Schuler and Brad Schuler; her sister-in-law Wendy (Rick) Gilbert; her brother-in-law Eric Ferguson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cheryl answered God’s call; she was needed to help run Heaven’s daycare.

A Celebration of Life is planned for March 17, 2017 at the Moses Lake Presbyterian Church, 1142 W. Ivy, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made at Wheatland Bank.
