MOSES LAKE — A man was arrested in Moses Lake over the weekend after allegedly firing a pistol into the air in an attempt to break up a fight between two men outside of a bar.

About 11:55 p.m. Saturday night the Moses Lake Police Department received a report of a shots fired at the Broadway Bar & Grill, 302 W. Broadway Ave., on the back deck. Officers and deputies with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded and contained the area, according to MLPD Capt. Dave Sands.

Witnesses claimed a man, alleged to be Jeremy A. Gober, 37, of Moses Lake, shot a pistol into the air in an attempt to breakup a fight between Dillon W. Arcega, 36, of Moses Lake, and an unknown male.

“During the fight, a pistol was fired into the air twice, causing the crowd to disperse and the fight to end. Officers found Jeremy Gober laying in the back seat of a car in the parking lot,” Sands said. “Gober matched the description of the suspect seen on security video. Gober was detained and the car was searched. A .40-caliber pistol and clothing Gober had been wearing were located in the car.”

Gober was booked into the Grant County Jail for suspicion of felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm and possession of a firearm in a prohibited space. Sands said Arcega is going to be charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

There were no reported injuries in the incident.
