SPOKANE - The Othello softball team had plans for a return trip to the state tournament in Selah May 25 and 26. But the Huskies were dealt a heartbreaking 10-4 loss to the Blackhawks Saturday in a loser out game to end their season.

EAST WENATCHEE - The Warden Cougars are the 2012 North Central 2B District champions. The team earned top honors by defeating Riverside Christian 2-1 May 12, and are the No. 1 seed at the regional tournament that takes place in Walla Walla Saturday. Warden will face Lind-Ritzville at 10 a.m. in round one.

YAKIMA -Aaron Whalen shot a 3-under 69, and his brother Andrew carded a 2-under 70 to lead Ephrata to the CWAC/GNL Regional championship. The tournament took place at the par 72 Apple Tree Golf Course in Yakima Tuesday.

PASCO - Consistency is the name of the game in tennis. Unfortunately, that was the one factor missing for the Chiefs at the CBBN District Tournament in Pasco last weekend as Moses Lake was unable to put together enough wins to advance any players to regionals.

OTHELLO - The Huskies were on the brink of elimination as they trailed 1-0 with eight minutes to go in a loser out match against West Valley Saturday.

PASCO - The Chiefs finished sixth overall out of seven schools that participated in the Big Nine District Championship at Edgar Brown Stadium in Pasco Friday. Moses Lake recorded 54.5 team points on the day. Walla Walla took first with 146.5, Wenatchee (144.5) was second, Richland (122.5) placed third, Eisenhower (83) finished fourth, Davis (68) was fifth, and Chiawana (40) placed last.

SUNNYSIDE - Ephrata's Kendall Sage was crowed individual champion at the CWAC District 5/6 girls golf tournament at Black Rock Creek in Sunnyside Tuesday. Her round of 90 on the par 72 course earned her the medalist award and helped lead the Tigers to a third place finish out of the 10 schools that participated in the event.

Richland (341) took first, host Walla Walla (390) was second, Wenatchee (394) placed third, Chiawana was fifth with 411, and Davis and Eisenhower scores were incomplete.
