WALLA WALLA -Moses Lake got two second half goals Jonny Cortez and one from Adolfo Cortez for a come from behind win over Walla Walla Saturday.

The win stopped a four game losing streak by the Chiefs and improves their record to 6-5 in Big Nine action.

The Blue Devils took a 1-0 lead at the 20 minute-mark of the contest. Walla Walla increased the scored to 2-0 at the 30th minute of play.

The lead held up at intermission.

Moses Lake got on the board in the 51st minute of action with an unassisted goal by Adolfo Cortez on a free kick from 30 yards out to close the gap to 2-1.

The Chiefs Jonny Cortez (Adrian Vasquez) tied the game 2-2 at the 65 minute-mark.

Moses Lake took its first lead of the match 3-2 at the 77th minute of play on Jonny Cortez's second goal of the match off a header from Adolfo, which proved to be the game winner.

""We made some adjustments at halftime to neutral one of their forwards.  We man-marked Tyler (Courtright) on their biggest forward threat (Ricky Saldana) and that turned the possession game back in our favor," coach Bill Bertram said. "During the second half, the boys kept their composure and just ground them down.  The boys pride themselves on being fit as we train hard all season.  And today, our fitness showed and we just out-ran them"

Luis Villa and Edgar Nava combined for 10 saves for the Chiefs.

Moses Lake is back on the pitch tomorrow when the team travels to Yakima to take on the Davis Pirates in the last regular season match of the year.
