Boys track sixth at district

PASCO - The Chiefs finished sixth overall out of seven schools that participated in the Big Nine District Championship at Edgar Brown Stadium in Pasco Friday. Moses Lake recorded 54.5 team points on the day. Walla Walla took first with 146.5, Wenatchee (144.5) was second, Richland (122.5) placed third, Eisenhower (83) finished fourth, Davis (68) was fifth, and Chiawana (40) placed last.

The top eight placers in each event at the district tournament advance to the regional championship meet at Richland High School Friday and Saturday. The competition gets underway at 4 p.m.

Representing the Chiefs are Lee Ransom who finished second (11.16) in the 100 meter dash. Brooks Milbrandt (11.60)took sixth, and Malcolm Ransom (11.64) placed seventh. Lowell Kirkwood will also be making the trip as he placed seventh in the 800 with a time of 1:59.11. The 4x100 team of Malcolm and Lee Ransom and Milbrandt and Sam Welch took third (43.92) in the event, Renwil Bacat was sixth (147-0) in the Javelin, Cameron Ballard placed fourth in the high jump with a leap of 5-10, Cameron Law was second (14-0) in the pole vault, Jared Crowell (20-05) finished second in the long jump, and Ben Crowell (19-07) placed seventh. Jared also took fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 39-0 feet.
