Rimple was one of more than 144 golfers who participated in the annual Cougar Classic fundraiser to raise money for the Washington State University Athletics Foundation. Estefana was born April 17, 1918 in Ciudad Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She later moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, where, at the age of 14, she met her future sweetheart and husband Jose R. Gonzalez. Estefana and Jose were married the year 1939 in Tamaulipas, Mexico. They lived in Edingburg, Texas until 1953 when they moved their family to Washington State.
