Knight golfers took on the Warriors on Thursday and came home with a sweet victory. The combined team scores had Royal ahead of Wahluke 298 to 392. The team score put up by the boys is a school record for a match on the road and equals the team record for a home match.

On Desert Aire's par 72 course, Joseph Perkins wowed all those present, ending the day with a mere 66 shots. Perkins shot a 31 in the front 9 and was just one shot shy of the course record. The score broke a school record set by his elder brother two years ago.

Other scores for the boys match included: James Dykes with a 74, DJ Solis with a 76, Patrick Dorsing with an 82, Brian Gilbert with a 91 and Brandon Hubbard with a 97.

The scores put up by Dykes, Solis and Dorsing, along with Perkins' score, are good enough to qualify the four for districts. "DJ [Solis] is a freshman. He has a bright future ahead of him," said Coach Andrew Perkins.

The Lady Knights played an incomplete match because Wahluke had just one player. Royal put up a team score of 211, the lowest team score this season.

Sarah Perkins had the low score of the day with a 50 but was closely followed by Jenny Jennett who had a 51. Other scores included: Janelle Cochran with a 54, Erin Argo with a 56, Chantel Anderson with a 64, Laura Perkins with a 67 and Christina Jule with a 79.

The scores put up by Sarah Perkins and Jenney Jennett are low enough to qualify them for districts.
