"Robbins has been playing well in the last few matches and has been improving," said Coach Wayne Schutte. Tuesday's win finishes an undefeated season for Othello (20-0). East Valley of Yakima came in second with a 14-6 season, Grandview 11-9, Toppenish 5-15 and Naches 0-20.

Othello's next match will be at the district tournament on May 24.

Knights on the verge

of history

The Royal boys and girls golf teams traveled to Mount Adams Golf Course, a par 72, to match up against Zillah.

The Knights finished the day with the low team total. The team combined for a score of 323 to Zillah's 327. James Dykes, of Royal City, was the medalist on the day shooting a 75. Joe Perkins shot a 79, Patrick Dorsing had an 83, DJ Solis hit an 86, Brian Gilbert had an 89 and Brandon Hubbard shot a 92.

Royal's step into history could happen if they win their match Thursday against Warden. If the Knights win it will give them their 6th league title in as many years with a record of 36-0. For senior James Dykes, it would cap off an undefeated career at Royal; a win Thursday would give Dykes a 24-0 record.

The Lady Knights did not fare as well on the green, losing their match by a mere ten points. Zillah put up a 234 to edge out Royal's 244.

Royal City's Sarah Perkins was the match medalist with a score of 50 and Jenny Jannett took second with a score of 54. Other scores included: Erin Argo with a 67, Janelle Cochran shot a 73, Chantel Anderson had an 84 and Laura Perkins had an 88.

"Perkins and Jannett are playing well and this win is good for them both," said Royal head coach Andrew Perkins.

Bart Patitucci had the low team score with an 80. Other team scores included: Brandon Robbins shot an 81, Jason Brault had an 82, Travis Mohs shot an 87 and Brandon Hoksbergen had an 88.
