| May 18, 2005 9:00 PM

Betty Lou Clark, wife of Charles Clark, passed away May 16, 2005 after a battle with cancer. Her life was dedicated to her family, friends and church. She is survived by her husband Charles, her sister Ilene Downey, her brother Max Abston (wife Jackie) and her children, Sandra Heavey, Judy Calkins (husband Larry), Ed Heavey (wife Lorrie) and Rick Heavey (wife Pam). She also left behind many close friends.

Betty was born March 26, 1930 in Lovell, Wyo., the youngest child of Florence and J. Arthur Abston. Her sister Dorothy Hesse preceded her in death.

Betty graduated from Eastern Washington State University with a bachelor's degree in home economics. She also obtained an associate's degree in drafting. However, her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Her grandchildren from oldest to youngest are Aaron Disario (wife Jodi), Naomi Golter (husband Paul), Marcus Calkins (wife Annie), Rachel Disario (husband Kirkland Moody), Kirticia Jarrett (husband Nathan), Kate Heavey and Jordan Heavey. Her joyful great-granddaughters are Delaney Disario (age 2) and Catherine Golter (age 1).

All of her family from Oregon, California, Arizona, Wisconsin and Seattle came to be with her in the final days before her death. They shared with Betty and each other many of their memories of her. She will live on in our memories and in the hearts of those whose life she touched. She was truly a kind, compassionate, forgiving and loving person.
