SOAP LAKE — A pair of Ephrata High School senior golfers took first-place finishes at the North Central Regional Tournament at Lakeview Golf & Country Club in Soap Lake last week.

Ephrata High School softball got the edge over Moses Lake High School on Tuesday afternoon in the 3-0 victory as the Chiefs wrapped up their spring season. The Tigers will close out the spring on Friday against Wenatchee High School.

Taylor Hofheins capped off a late comeback by the Chiefs with a walk-off double in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Chiefs the 5-4 win over the Cougars. Hofheins led Moses Lake from the plate, finishing 2-4 with three RBIs. Kiana Rios finished 2-3 from the plate for Warden, while Brianna Martinez finished 2-4. Rios finished with 12 strikeouts on the mound, while surrendering five runs on four hits.
