E.L. (Mack) McCullough

E.L. (Mack) McCullough joined his beloved wife, Beverly, in heaven on Memorial Day, May 28, 2007. Mack was born on July 29, 1925, to Dallas and Carrie McCullough. He attended school in Wenatchee until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 where he served on the U.S.S. Massachusetts as a gunner. Mack and Beverly were married while he was on leave on Sept. 23, 1945. Following the war, the BIG one, he returned home to resume civilian life. Their only son Joe was born the following year. Mack's main occupation in Wenatchee was as a painter for Alcoa until he started selling cars for Star Motors & Mobile Homes. In 1969, he and Beverly moved to Moses Lake to manage the Star sales center there and sold Marlette homes. Eight years later, he and Joe established McCullough Home Center and he worked there until ill health forced him to retire at the age of 80. He truly loved selling and visiting with customers. His love for old cars and restoring them was caught and taught by both his son and grandson, and they spent many happy hours in the garage. Mack loved his family and did everything within his power to provide for them. He was a wonderful father, father-in-law, and "grampy." His grandchildren have many happy memories of their yearly trips to Disneyland and Hawaii, and most importantly, their "special days" spent with their grandparents. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Moses Lake and the Shriners. He loved to work in his yard and it always Iooked like a park. Mack is survived by his son Joe and his wife Myra, granddaughter Desiree, grandson Damon and his wife Amy, and a sister Geneva and her husband Bob. He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly and his parents, Carrie and Dallas McCullough. A special thank you to everybody at Denny's for the special treatment that they gave to Mack. If desired, memorials may be given to the Moses Lake Alliance Church.
