EPHRATA — The Ephrata Sportsmen have handed out several awards to junior shooters and an area scholar in recent weeks.

The annual Ephrata Sportsmen's Scholarship, worth $400, was given to Cameron Moyer, a recent graduate of Almira/Coulee-Hartline High School. Moyer plans to begin work this fall toward a computer engineering degree at Gonzaga University.

Daniel Asker was the recipient of a special buckle from the Amateur Trapshooting Association Hall of Fame, as the sub-junior division's 2007 award winner and representative of the Ephrata Sportsmen.

Tanner Bechtel and Wiatt Goyne received pro marksmen badges for their shooting skills with small bore rifles.

The People to People Ambassador Program selected Brian Quade as an ambassador based on academic achievement. Quade will travel to Europe for a 21-day tour, where he'll also receive high school and college credit. The Ephrata Sportsmen contributed $400 to Quade's expenses.
