Gloria Jean Wride

| June 4, 2007 9:00 PM

After being ravaged for over 15 years by Huntington's Chorea (a neurological brain disease), Gloria Jean Wride, 56, entered into her rest on May 22, 2007, in the home of her family Nick and Patricia Wride of Moses Lake. Arrangements are in care of Benson Family Funeral Service, Chapel, Cemetery and Crematory.

Born in Butte, Mont., on July 11, 1950, Gloria became a longtime resident of Grant County as a child.

She graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1968, Yakima Valley College in 1982 and later finished up her degree in Education at Central Washington University.

Prior to being stricken with the disease, Gloria had a passion for children and worked as a substitute teacher in Grant County.

She is survived by the love of her life, Nick Wride, her beloved son who was the joy of her life, Nathan Wride, her two special children who called her Grandma Gloria…Harmony and Charis Wride; her uniquely special friend, Patricia Wride; her faithfully devoted friends of over 20 years, Gary and Mary Fisher, all of whom are from Moses Lake, her dear mom, Violet Reindl of Warden, her encouraging stepmom, Roxanne Reindl of Blaine, Wash., her little sister Laura Nichols and her children of Everett, Wash., her baby brother and sister-in-law, Todd and Renee Reindl and their children of Moses Lake and her lost half-sister, Lynn Solis.

Gloria is preceded in death by her father, Alex Solis, her adopted father, Joe Reindl and her kindred spirited brother, Kenny Reindl.

In 1998 Gloria became a resident at McKay's Convalescent Center in Soap Lake. In 2003 she was transferred to Lakeridge Special Care Center in Moses Lake, where she resided up until this May 2007.

Gloria's family would like to extend their deepest of gratitude to all the nursing staff, physical and occupational therapists, social workers, care givers and doctors who contributed to her nurturing and care these past many years.

The love of Jesus Christ that Gloria cherished in her heart sustained her during her time of suffering with this disease. As such, it was Gloria's desire that all would come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and it is her wish for all to know that tomorrow may be too late to make that decision for one never knows what tomorrow may hold.

Gloria Jean Wride came to a point in her life where she accepted her disease with courage and she wore that badge of honor to suffer while glorifying Jesus Christ, with great faithfulness. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

A special celebration of her life eternal, with Jesus, will be held at the Crestview Christian Academy off Valley Road in Moses Lake on June 9, 2007, at 4 p.m. Family and friends are invited.
