John Earl Cadle, 87, longtime southern Calif. and recent Moses Lake resident, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at his residence in Moses Lake, surrounded by his family. The funeral services, officiated by the Reverend Steve Rice, will be held at 2 p.m. today at the United Methodist Church in Moses Lake. Military flag presentation will be held at the interment immediately following at the Ephrata cemetery. The viewing will take place at Kayser's Chapel of Memories on today from 8 a.m. until noon. Ruth E. Copley
Ruth E. Copley passed away in Moses Lake, WA. on March 30th 2010. She was born in Weed, California to Charles and Mildred Carabin, October 3rd 1927. Ruth was married to Parker Copley in 1947, and lived in Portland, Oregon for most of their 64 years marriage. Ruth was a telephone Operator for Bell Telephone Company. She and Parker enjoyed many years of hiking, backpacking and sailing. Ruth especially enjoyed sailboat racing with her husband on the Willamette river in Portland. They traveled many places in Mexico and enjoyed taking Amtrak to such places as Boston and New York. Following the death of her son, Ruth and Parker moved to Moses Lake to be near their daughter and their son in-law and Grandsons. Ruth joined TOPS in Moses Lake where she made many friends and was a committed member for several years. Ruth is preceded in death by her sister Betty Wingo, and her son Parker C. Copley. She is survived by her husband Parker G. Copley,daughter Carolyn Copley Casey and her husband Bill Casey of Moses Lake, grandson Scott Linville, of Spokane,WA, and Michael Copley Casey of Moses Lake. She is also survived by her sisters in-law and many nieces and nephews. Her service will be a small family gathering.Funeral arrangements have been made by Benson Funeral Home. Internment will be in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
Evelyn Ellis Conrad
Evelyn Ellis Conrad died Jan 26, 2011 at the home of her son Roger Conrad, in St. George, Utah surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren. She was born Sept. 2, 1920 in Storrs, Utah to David and Dora Ellis. She was raised in Carbon Co., Utah until the family moved to Kittitas Co., Washington in 1934 where she remained most of her life. There she met and married Donald L. Conrad on June 29, 1938. To this marriage were born 6 children-3 girls and 3 boys. This family became and remained the center of her life. She will be remembered as a grand homemaker, a superb cook, and a world class quilt maker. Along with raising her family she devoted her life to service in her church. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She is preceded in death by her parents David Ellis and Dora Petersen, her siblings Helen Bunnell, Merrill Ellis, Jessie Smith, and Raymond Ellis, her husband of 70 years-Donald Conrad, and infant son-Kelly Dee Conrad, and a great grandson-Cole Kelly. She is survived by her children-Chloe Conrad, Roger Conrad, Dixie Merkley, Marsha Sheron, and David Conrad. She is also survived by 30 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held in Utah with burial Feb 1, 2011 in Ellensburg, Washington.

Ray 'Bud' Pfeifer
Ray 'Bud' Pfeifer passed away October 3, 2014 in Ellensburg, WA formerly of the Soap Lake and Marlin areas. He is survived by his two children Marilyn (Michael) Santangelo and Lyle (Marlene) Pfeifer along with his six grandchildren: Joe (Casey) Giovanelli, Maggie Santangelo and Mitchell, Matthew, Brian and Kaitlin Pfeifer. Ray has four brothers Cecil, Dale, Loren, and Keith Pfeifer along with three sisters Lois Starkel, Lorene Arbuckle and Donna Rainey and numerous nieces and nephews. Ray is preceded in death by his wife Betty in 2002, brother Howard and three sisters Lenora Wraspir, Gladys Nelson and Iva Thrall. He was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Marlin, WA and a former Ephrata Elks member. Ray worked on the family wheat farm and later became co-owner of Pfeifer Farms with his brother, Dale. Bud will be missed by all who knew him. He was a gentle soul and a really funny guy. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at the Zion-Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Odessa, WA on Friday, October 10 at 11 am with Pastor Mark Squire, officiating.
