Fern E. Robbins

| October 3, 2014 6:00 AM

Fern E. Robbins, age 93, long time resident of the Royal Slope in Grant County, Washington, passed quietly from this life on Friday, September 26, 2014 with members of her family around her. She was born Fern Ethel Campbell on Feb 8, 1921 in Burley, Idaho to Charles Newton Campbell & Rhoda Elvera Randall Campbell. She was married for time & eternity to Lovell B Robbins on Oct 2,1941 in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Fern & Lovell have three children: David Brent (Gerri) Robbins of Spokane, Washington; Tharon Rex (Cheryl) Robbins of Othello, Washington; & Shirley Kay (Ron) Sartell of Salem, Oregon. There are 17 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, & 10 great great grandchildren. Fern's niece, Debbie Koyle Gilbert, also of Royal Slope, has been very close to her and like a member of the family.

Young people and sports have always been sources of joy for Fern. She worked for many years as Secretary at Royal High School and loved associating with the students. She also loved to go to the High School's football games and continued to do so as long as her health would allow it. Her sharp wit and great sense of humor brought smiles to many faces through the years. She will be greatly missed.

A funeral was not on her list of approved activities. She did not want a bunch of people making up nice things about her. She will be buried next to Lovell at Pleasant Valley Cemetery near her home on Royal Slope after a graveside ceremony attended by her immediate family. There will be an open house for her friends and family on Friday, Oct. 3, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Rainier Street and 13th Avenue in Othello. It will begin at 7:00 pm. Dress will be nice casual.

Final arrangements by Stevens Funeral Chapel.
