Uriel Serrano

Uriel Serrano, 65, longtime resident of Moses Lake, WA passed away May 23, 2013 at Central Washington Hospital after a long battle with various medical complications that lead to his passing.

The funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 29, 2013. Viewing will be held, beginning at 9:30 followed by a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow the funeral at Pioneer Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are invited to attend a small reception in his memory at the CCD of Our Lady of Fatima after burial.

Mr. Serrano was born in Zacatecas, Mexico on July 6, 1947. He migrated to the California area in the late 1950's and settled in Washington State in the 1980's starting his family owned Mexican Restaurant known as Serrano's Restaurant.

Mr. Serrano was married to Roselia Serrano (Castrellon) on August 23, 1990; they were married for 22 years.

He will always be remembered for being a wonderful family man, his cheerful smile and laugh, his generosity, and always being an easygoing person. He was the glue to our family always attracting everyone with his awesome talent in the kitchen, always trying to feed everyone, and his funny jokes that would make everyone laugh until their stomach hurt. He was a great man full of life and would attract anyone that he met like a magnet.

Mr. Serrano survived by his wife, Roselia, four children, Cirilo Serrano , Jose Serrano, Anna V. Serrano, and Alejandra Serrano; his 5 grandchildren Merecedez, Carlos, Keyra, Enrqiue, and Angelica; and 3 brothers Jose, Rodrigo, and Fidel; and sister Jeronima; and nieces, nephews, and the rest of his relatives and friends.

Mr. Serrano is preceded in death by his parents Jose Serrano and Jeronima Cortez-Serrano, as well and his former wife, Belen Carlos-Nanez , daughter Violeta Cifuentes- Serrano, granddaughter Rosemary Cifuentes, and brother Isaias Serrano.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be mailed to his Family at 1113 Gary Street, Moses Lake, WA 98837. The family of Uriel Serrano wishes to thank the Central Washington Hospital Staff, Moses Lake Dialysis Center, and Moses Lake Clinic for all their support.
