Marty O'Brien passed away unexpectedly in his sleep Sunday, July 15, 2007, at the age of 63. Marty was the last of six children born on May 27, 1944, to Joseph Martin and Lucy (Willoughby) O'Brien in Spokane. He attended North Central High School where he excelled on both the basketball court and the baseball field and accomplished just enough to get by in the classroom. He went on to play baseball at Columbia Basin Community College and Eastern Washington University, where he earned all-conference honors at shortstop his senior year. On Dec. 28, 1963, he married Judy Ann Kemp, his high school sweetheart and wife of 43 years.

She is survived by her two sons Curt and his wife Linda, and Gregg Lovins; her brother Richard Commons; sister Barbara Danials; and grandson Connor Lovins. Age 84, went to sleep in death July 9, 2007, with his daughters by his side. Linn was born April 2, 1923, in Seattle, the fourth son of the late Charles and Cora Cooper. He grew up and worked most of his life on the same location where he was born. He and his brothers, Harold and Lister took over their father's service station business. He later began to work for the water department until the age of 78. In his high school years he was known as the athletic one of the family; being a four-letter man graduating from Foster High in the class of '41. He served in the Army during World War II; honorably discharged as a sergeant in 1945. In order to be closer to his daughters, he changed his residence in 2002 to Moses Lake. With his positive, cheerful attitude and good sense of humor, he was loved by all who knew him. Because of his great love of the outdoors, camping trips were a regular part of the family's vacations. He enjoyed traveling south where it was hot; especially to Yuma, Arizona and Death Valley. He was often heard to say "let's go for a ride." He was preceded in death by Gwen J. Cooper, the mother of his three daughters; his first born daughter, Linda S. Reynolds; his brothers, Harold and Laren; his sister-in-laws Jean Cooper and Doris Smith. He is survived and dearly missed by his daughter, Carol and husband Dave Hourie; daughter, Barbara Whidden, all of Moses Lake, Wash.; brother Lister and his wife Marie Cooper of Seattle; sister-in-law Eva Mae Cooper of Seattle; seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; three nephews and three nieces and their families.

Harold J. Stadshaug, age 84, born July 29, 1922, to George and Berthe Stadshaug in Medicine Hat, Alberta, passed away June 25, 2007, in Port Townsend. He married-Ruth Gaylord in Portland, Ore., June 22, 1946, who survives him at the family home in Port Townsend. He is survived also by his two sons, Harold Jr., of Yakima, Gaylord, of Hana, Maui, Hawaii, daughter Mardee of Port Townsend, two grandchildren, Amy Murray and Andrew Prince, and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He attended business college, served in VVWII, attended the University of Washington and was in Title Insurance Business in Moses Lake and Yakima, before entering real estate in 1978. He was active in community affairs in Moses Lake as an Elder and Treasurer of the Presbyterian Church, served on the Planning Commission and City Council before being elected Mayor of Moses Lake, appointed by Gov. Evans to the Traffic Safety Commission, elected President of Washington State Land Title Association and was a member of Rotary and Elks clubs. After moving to Port Townsend in 1986, he joined Windemere Real Estate as Sales Manager and retired in 2002. Memorial service will be held in Port Townsend in August. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to charity of choice. Harold will be remembered as a gentleman of integrity and wit. He enjoyed gardening and golfing.
