Moses Lake may get bigger

| July 26, 2007 9:00 PM

MOSES LAKE — Nearly 400 acres may be annexed into Moses Lake.

REC Solar Grade Silicon, Guardian, state Department of Natural Resources and National Frozen Foods are included in a 384 annexation proposal.

The majority of the acreage is REC property used to expand their facilities, City Manager Joe Gavinski said.

The properties are located in the Wheeler Corridor east and west of Road N Northeast.

Municipal Services Coordinator Gary Harer said businesses in the proposed annexation would pay to build water and sewer connections to the city.

Council unanimously voted in favor of the annexation on the first reading, but it is not the final approval to permit annexation.

A public hearing will be held Aug. 14 during a regular council meeting before the council votes on whether to approve the annexation.
