Council makes exception for Sleep Center
In a unanimous decision, the Moses Lake City Council on Tuesday approved Ordinance 2969, which states the Sleep Center on the intersection of East Broadway Avenue and state Route 17 would be allowed in the Commercial 2 zone as lodging.

MOSES LAKE - Masonic Lodge 174 recognized firefighters and people in law enforcement at the fifth annual Public Service Awards ceremony.
Rolf Dilling
56 year resident of Moses Lake, Rolf Dilling, passed away quietly at Central Washington Hospital surrounded by family. Born in Norway in 1923, he came to the United States in 1951 as an agricultural exchange student. Rolf married his wife Tulla in 1959 and they made their home on their farm north of Moses Lake. The couple have four married children: Marta and Anders Brobjer of Fallkoping, Sweden, Harald (Huc) and Laurie Dilling of Ephrata, Lars and Sue Dilling of Achille, Oklahoma, and Erik and Kim Dilling of Wenatchee. There are 9.5 grandchildren who will miss their grandfather. Rolf cared for his family, his farm, and his community with diligent effort and compassion which reflected his love and respect for all. He will be remembered for his kind spirit and quiet wisdom.

Ray O. Flagg, 74, longtime Moses Lake resident and businessman, passed away Monday, Jan. 24 at LakeRidge Special Care Center. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29 at the Eagles Lodge in Moses Lake with Don Davidson officiating. A potluck will follow. Inurnment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory.

Kevin Lawrence Lauckner, 47, was born on April 6, 1976, to Al and Phyllis Lauckner in Seattle, Washington. He graduated high school in 1994 from Moses Lake High School and earned his bachelor’s in business from Washington State University. Kevin left this world peacefully and went home to be with his dad in the early morning hours of July 23, 2023, after a well-fought battle against congestive heart failure with his son resting quietly at his side. Kevin leaves behind his beloved mother Phyllis; his son Brenden, the light of his life; his spirited dog Zoey; and his many close and loving friends and family members.

With his family at his side, an honorable man passed peacefully on December 12, 2013. A punctured, collapsed lung took his life in Sacred Heart Hospital, Spokane, WA. He was 1 month shy of age 85. A memorial will be held 1 p.m., March 29, 2014, at the Elks Lodge in Moses Lake. All are welcome.
