He was born August 16, 1918 in St. Maries, Idaho to Paul and Alvine Fuchs. On December 30, 1966 he married his wife, Shirley, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Before moving to Grant County, he worked for the Milwaukee Railroad as a Car Man. He had a passion for trains. When he retired, he and his wife, Shirley, ran a Taxi cab service in Othello in addition to a bus line service, which included hauling patrons and freight to Moses Lake, Soap Lake, and Pasco, to catch the Greyhound bus. At his residence, Bob enjoyed raising cows, pigs, and chickens. He was involved with both the Moses Lake and Soap Lake Food Banks, helping to haul away unusable items. The wonderful workers at the Soap Lake Food Bank gave him his own special name tag that read "Farmer Bob."
