Mary Burgeson, 94, of Warden Washington passed away on Nov. 1, 2023, in Moses Lake, Washington. She was born June 7, 1929, and grew up in Chewelah, Washington with her mother, father and two siblings. Mary then married James (Jim) Burgeson and was blessed with four children. She was very dedicated to her family and was able to stay home to raise them. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Jim and son James. She is survived by her daughters Brenda Gray, Barbara Burgeson and Teresa Burgeson; grandchildren Ken Krebs and Marilyn (Devin) Moyer; and five great-grandchildren.

Tsugio Nakamura of Warden, Washington passed away at the age of 88 in Thousand Oaks, California on May 14, 2011. He was born March 18, 1923 in Waco, Montana. He grew up in Kirby, Wyoming. After his military service in Military Intelligence in WWII, he settled in Warden, Washington and farmed until retirement. He is survived by a brother, Hisashi, two sisters Mieco and Haruye and 16 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Kay and Toshiro and a sister Matsua.

MOSES LAKE - Members of the Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce gathered at Pillar Rock Grill Tuesday evening for the organization’s annual meeting which included the induction of Mike Laplant and Frank Martinez into the Grant County Farm Bureau’s Agriculture Hall of Fame. “The Moses Lake Area Agricultural Hall of Fame was formed in the year 2010 to recognize and honor distinguished individuals that have made significant contributions to the ag industry in our community in the Greater Moses Lake Area,” said incoming Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce board chair and Grant County Fairgrounds Director Jim McKiernan before the awards were presented. OLYMPIA — In a bid to encourage outdoor activity this Thanksgiving weekend, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is set to stock nearly 65,000 jumbo rainbow trout across 25 lakes statewide. The initiative offers anglers the chance to participate in the annual Black Friday fishing event, with fish weighing up to three pounds and measuring up to 17 inches each.
