LEGAL NOTICE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 2 OF GRANT COUNTY, WASHINGTON Pursuant to RCW 54.16.080 RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE FILING OF A PROPOSED BUDGET FOR THE YEAR 2020, SETTING A DATE FOR PUBLIC HEARING THEREON AND AUTHORIZING NOTICE OF SUCH MEETING WHEREAS, the preliminary proposed budget of revenue and expenditures for the Grant PUD for the year 2020 will be filed August 27, 2019. WHEREAS, public comment on the proposed budget will officially open October 8, 2019 during the regularly scheduled Commission Meeting and conclude upon adoption of the budget. Public hearings regarding the proposed 2020 budget will be held during the month of October at which any rate payer may appear and be heard for or against the whole or any part thereof. Notice of scheduled public hearings shall be published at least two consecutive weeks prior to the public hearing in a newspaper printed and of general circulation in Grant County. Longtime Moses Lake resident, Dennis Hanson was called to heaven on Sunday morning, Sept. 2. He was a born in Minnesota and moved to eastern Washington in 1972. Dennis truly loved the people, culture, and natural surroundings of the Columbia Basin. Born in 1945 to Burton and Isabelle Hanson, Dennis grew up on a farm near the rural town of Lake Benton, Minnesota. He attended SDSU in Brookings, SD, and earned a BS in Agricultural Business. He entered the U.S. Army during the height of the Vietnam War, and was stationed in Turkey and West Germany. During that time, he and his high-school sweetheart, Muriel Lange, were married.

Philip (Phil) Michael Jones passed away in Boerne, Texas surrounded by his family on Jan. 4, 2023. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on Jan. 13, 1938, to Mary and Ralph Jones. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara; four sons Mike (Beth), Tom (Cindy), Steve (LaVonne) and Danny (Birgit) and two daughters Laura (Dwight) Helton and Jeanie Jones; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Kathie Kleinschrodt of De Soto, Missouri. Phil served in the United States Coast Guard from 1958-1960 in Brownsville, Texas before working at Union Carbide in Brownsville and Moses Lake, Washington. He retired in 2015. He came to faith in Christ in 1967, and faithfully served Christ at First Baptist Church in Brownsville, Texas and Moses Lake Alliance Church in Moses Lake, Washington.
