Moses Lake hosts youth baseball and softball tournaments

MOSES LAKE - Two tournaments were held around Moses Lake this weekend, the Phil Schultz Memorial Tournament - a girls fastpitch tournament - and the Pete Doumit Memorial Tournament hosted by the Moses Lake Youth Baseball Association. Construction continues on local highway projects

MOSES LAKE — Most of the work on a paving project in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 is expected to be completed by the end of this week. Drivers can expect lane closures and speeds reduced to 55 miles per hour in the construction zone, which is east of Moses Lake to the Adams County line. Construction crews are working from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to a press release from the Washington State Department of Transportation.

SOAP LAKE - Decked in gowns of blue and white, the seniors of Soap Lake High School gathered in the gym, this time to take a trip down memory lane. “In my opinion, I would say we had a very hard route for our class,” salutatorian Julia Zubritskiy said during her speech. “Sophomore year we had COVID hit, and we all went online. I don’t know about you guys, but it was definitely hard for me to stare at a screen all day doing assignments, and for sure, paying attention to those zoom meetings.”
