Rue & Sage hosted an open house and vendor fair, with members of the Moses Lake business community including Love & Lumber, O2 Studio Yoga and Liberate & Lather. The pumpkin patch is open for customers to pick with pumpkins in all sizes and colors, from the traditional orange to blue, silver and brown. Pumpkins will be available through the end of October.

SLSD to hold state of the district meeting

SOAP LAKE - Soap Lake School District Superintendent Kim Casey is inviting the community to a state of the district town hall. Casey said the meeting topics of discussion include attendance, a balanced calendar, discipline, facility needs and improvements and CB Tech and Running Start. There will also be a question-and-answer portion of the meeting to clarify or address any other needs or concerns. Along with the superintendent, representatives from the Soap Lake Prevention Coalition and WSU Gear Up will be in attendance as well. The meeting will be held Dec. 6 at the Soap Lake Middle/High School cafeteria. Free dinner will be served to attendees as well.

Fatal medical emergency causes Othello-area crash

OTHELLO — A Benton City man’s car crashed after the man suffered a fatal medical emergency Monday morning. Troy Wilson, 61, was driving north on State Route 17 about one mile northeast of Othello when he suffered an unknown medical emergency, according to a press release from the Washington State Patrol. The incident occurred at about 6:47 a.m. Wilson’s car ran off the road to the right, coming to rest in the northbound ditch, the press release said. He was transported to Othello Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Links at Moses Pointe hopes to open driving range this week

MOSES LAKE – As snow and ice continues to melt off the course, The Links at Moses Pointe said in a release that they hope to have the driving range open by January 17 or 18. “The snow is almost off the fairways, but most of the greens still have some ice and snow. Once the greens are clear, Mike and his crew will assess conditions, and work quickly to get the course open,” the release stated. Golfers with questions can call the golf shop at 509-764-2275 ext. 3 with questions on course conditions. The golf shop is open every day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
