Rueben Harold Ruff
Rueben Harold Ruff, 86, lifelong area resident and member of a Columbia Basin pioneer family, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009, at his home in Moses Lake.
Gary Lenard Wahl
Gary Lenard Wahl died at the age of 59 on Monday, August 13, 2012 at his home on the farm. He was born on Father's Day, June 21st, 1953 to Lenard and Ava Wahl in Coeur d 'Alene, Idaho. He married his high school sweetheart Jan Tilton on November 2, 1974. The couple raised their children on the family homestead in Lind, WA. Gary worked with his dad on the family farm until he took over operations from his father in 1993 and continued to farm until his death. Husband, father, grandpa, son, brother, uncle, family and friend; Gary was different things to many different people, but is loved and remembered by all. His fun-loving personality lit up every room. He loved snowmobiling, golfing, riding four-wheelers, working the drag races, and fishing. He had a passion for wheat farming and always liked talking "shop". As an active member of the Lind Lions Club, he enjoyed helping with community events. Later in life he spent his free time at his property on Lake Roosevelt enjoying special time with family and friends. Much more could be said. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. He is preceded in death by his father Lenard Wahl in 1996. He is survived by his wife, Jan Wahl of Lind, WA, his son Andy Wahl of Spokane Valley, WA, his daughter Christi (Eric) Dahl of Spokane, WA, one granddaughter, Vera Dahl, his mother, Ava Wahl of Lind, WA, his sisters Linda (Doug) Borth of Walla Walla, WA, Bonnie (Dale) Grams of Ritzville, WA, Patti Schilling of Spokane Valley, WA and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service is to be held on Monday, August 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lind Community Church followed by a luncheon at the Lind Lions Club. If you would like to donate, a memorial can be made to the American Heart Association or a memorial of your choice. Danekas Funeral Home-Ritzville is entrusted with arrangements.

Harlan B. Gates, 91, Washington resident since 1948 and longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2006 at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 31, 2006 at Kayser's Chapel of Memories with family friend Bob Garrett officiating. Following, refreshments will be provided at Michael's on the Lake so we can share memories. Viewing will be held at Kayser's Chapel on Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. until service time. Helen Almeda Lamroe, a longtime Moses Lake resident whose life experienced two world wars and the invention of most modern technologies, passed away Friday at Samaritan Hospital after suffering from heart failure. She was 93.
Dorothy Irene Scott Gilbertson-Hubbell (Dottie)
Dorothy Irene Scott Gilbertson-Hubbell (Dottie) passed from us, peacefully, after a brief battle with cancer. She was a loving and giving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to those of us blessed to be a part of her joyful spirit. Dottie exemplified the value of service to others in a quiet unassuming way. She supported others with her encouragement and actions helping us through the good times and the bad.

Beloved mother, Mary Lou (Kaufman) Penhallurick passed away on January 23, 2010. Mary Louise was born in Portland, OR on September 16, 1924 to Nicholas and Laura Kaufman; she was the fourth child of one son and four daughters.

Thurn Baker, 97, a Moses Lake resident since 1952 passed away peacefully Monday morning, February 23, 2015 at his home. Funeral services were held Monday, March 2, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Moses Lake. Interment followed at Pioneer Memorial Gardens.

Janie M. Ruiz
Janie M. Ruiz was born on Dec. 26,1951, in Edinburg, Texas to Elvira Burciaga and Alberto Morales. After a short battle with lung cancer, she died on Oct. 2, 2022, at Vallejo, California. There are not enough words to describe our beautiful sister Janie. She will be remembered as a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and G-Mom. She was a passionate pet lover and faithful to her parakeet Mr. Blue, cats Baby Girl and Baby and her late dog Chiquita. She had an amazing green thumb and could grow just about anything. Her “yard” was filled with colorful and fragrant plants and flowers such as jasmine, roses, cactuses and tropical plants. It was her private paradise. She had a great artistic talent with drawing and sewing. She could paint something and make it beautiful and colorful. She was an amazing seamstress and made her daughter’s clothes and elaborate Halloween costumes. She sewed her brother Benny’s eighth-grade promotion suit.
Christina Louise Cobb
Christina Louise Cobb, 89, of Ephrata passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 16. She was born on Nov. 18, 1933, in Spokane, Washington to Harry and Dorothy Hartman. She attended Spokane schools and graduated from North Central High School in 1951. On Aug. 26, 1951, Christina married the love of her life John Robert Cobb in Spokane, Washington and they were sealed for eternity in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah on Feb. 25, 1970. In 1964 they moved to the Ephrata area with their eight children and the following year their youngest son was born.
