Moses Lake student to perform at music teachers conference
MOSES LAKE — Lydia Jensen will represent Moses Lake at the Washington State Music Teachers Association’s annual conference in Winthrop June 26, according to an announcement from piano instructor Marina Munter. Jensen, a 2023 graduate of Moses Lake High School, is a student of Gracie Payne, according to the announcement. She has been playing piano since she was 5, the announcement said. She took up the violin when she was 10, it said, but time constraints forced her to choose between the two instruments and she picked the piano.
William ‘Willie’ Thomas Lowe
William Thomas Lowe, 94, of Moses Lake, Washington, died Feb. 21, 2023. Willie Lowe was the son of Thomas Lee Lowe and Lillian Lee Lowe (nee Taylor), and loving husband of Donna Patricia “Pat” Lowe (nee Terry). He is survived by his three daughters Cathy (Bruce) Clark, Linda D. Lowe and Terri (Ed) Morrison. He is also survived by four grandchildren Joshua Pittsenbarger, David (Whitney) Pittsenbarger, Jessica Sturgeon (nee Morrison), and James Morrison. Additionally, he is survived by nine great-grandchildren Natalie, Jacob, Shayden, Annaka, Theofilia, Westen, Robert, Michael and Alexander. Willie was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Lillian Lowe, his infant son Robert Thomas Lowe, his wife Pat Lowe, and his sister Norma Lee Mathies (nee Lowe).
James (Jim) Frederick Harris
James (Jim) Frederick Harris, 77, of Priest River, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home in the presence of his family on Saturday, April 29, 2023. Jim earned the nickname of “the miracle man” from his medical doctors and hospice nurses after years of coming back from many heart events. Jim was born in 1945 in Yakima, Washington and later moved to Moses Lake where he went to high school and met the love of his life, Merrily Hill, in geometry class. In 1966, while he was attending the University of Washington on a football scholarship, the two were married. He later moved to Moses Lake where their daughter Tricia, and son Robbie were born. His career started at Lad Irrigation, and in 1973 he went to work for Grant County PUD as a journeyman lineman, where he retired after 30 years of service. Jim was a “get-’er-done” kind of guy with a servant's heart.
Harvey Vernier
HARVEY VERNIER, 83, passed away on June 2, 2012 in Spokane, WA as a result of congestive heart failure. He was born Aug. 8, 1928 at Wenatchee, WA and resided with his parents Paul & Imelda (Libey) Vernier on a farm near Ephrata, WA until the family moved to Pullman, WA. He graduated salutatorian from Pullman High School and continued his education at Washington State University where he earned a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree and a physics degree in 1950. Harvey opened his architectural practice in Moses Lake, WA in 1955 doing commercial and residential buildings. He participated in many community committees including the Moses Lake Citizens Committee on Capital Improvements and the Moses Lake Planning Commission. He was elected to the City Council in 1979 and was appointed in 1980 to the Washington State Board for Community College Education. Harvey was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul & Imelda Vernier; his brother Elry Vernier & sister Carol Vernier Nelson. He is survived by a sister Jean McCandless of Spokane; five nephews & four nieces. A viewing will be held from 1 to 5 PM today (Wednesday) at Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman, WA. The graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 1 PM at the Pullman Cemetery. Kimball Funeral Home of Pullman, Washington is caring for the family. Raquel Liza (Gonzales) Werner passed away on February 14, 2012 in Shoreline, Washington as the result of a prolonged illness. She was thirty-nine (39) years old at the time of her death. Dennis W. Britton
Dennis Wayne Britton, 81, of Soap Lake, Washington, died Dec. 25, 2023, at Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco, Washington, of congestive heart failure. He was born in Pasco to Willard “Wayne” and Darlene “Dolly” Britton. He was raised in Kennewick and was a longtime resident of Soap Lake. Dennis honorably served four years in the United States Navy. His careers included TV and electronic repair and working as a long-haul truck driver. The job he was most proud of was as a dam operator/electrician with the Grand Coulee Project Hydroelectric Authority, where he was considered to be very knowledgeable and highly respected in the field. He retired in 2008. Dennis married Shirley Johnson in 1986. During their 37 years together, they enjoyed traveling and would take regular road trips to visit family and friends.

Stanley B. Lancaster, 71, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away at Central Washington Hospital on Friday, Jan. 12, 2007. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20, at The Church of Moses Lake, (Day Star Gym), 6378 Arnold Dr., Moses Lake. Helping the Moses Lake Clinic celebrate 25 years
In an undated article about a new doctor joining the clinic: Clinic adds new doctor: E. Michael Graham, M.D., has joined the staff of the Moses Lake Clinic as a specialist internal medicine. Graham, a Washington native, received his medical degree at the University of Washington. During the past four years, he completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and was chief resident and clinical consultant in internal medicine programs. Graham's areas of special professional interest include nutrition and fitness, endrocrinology, electrolytes and renal disease, as well as intensive care medicine.
