Arthur Luse
Arthur Luse, age 82, passed away Jan. 5, 2008, in Honolulu, Hawaii with his longtime friend Jean Petty at his side. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie Woods Luse. He is survived by his four children Pam Linden of Black Diamond, Wash., Janet Green of Ephrata, Susan Luse of Phoenix, Ariz., and James Luse (Nancy) of Sacramento, Calif., three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also his brother Eugene Luse of Veradale, Wash., and sister Eloise Kilker of Nekoosa, Wis. Art and Marie lived in Ephrata, moving to Spokane. They then retired in Honolulu, Hawaii. Art served in the U.S. Navy, was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge and the Elks Lodge #616. His ashes were released over the Hawaiian waters that he loved so much. Aloha, Dad.
Barlow heads to state DYW pageant

MOSES LAKE — Distinguished Young Woman Elisabeth Barlow will join 14 other Washington girls in Pullman to participate in the Washington state DYW competition. Barlow, the daughter of Esther and Brian Barlow, outshone six other girls to win the Moses Lake pageant on April 23.

Before the mural of Chief Moses on his horse and the basalt pillars of Sinkiuse Square in downtown Moses Lake, the Downtown Moses Lake Association, along with leaders of the city of Moses Lake and The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, unveiled six new banners titled “In honor of Chief Moses, our city’s namesake.”
