Richard Dale Shetler, 58, of Moses Lake, Washington, died suddenly at home Wednesday evening, Aug. 17, 2022. He was born Dec. 15, 1964, in Salmon, Idaho.

Rick’s early life was spent on a cattle ranch that his parents owned in Twin Falls, Idaho and later on a farm. He graduated in 1982 in Moses Lake. Rick served in the Navy 1986-1990 on the USS Nimitz. Rick was employed at Genie Terex as a mast welder for 18 years and was working towards his retirement. Rick is survived by his fiancée Roslyn Gilmore of Moses Lake; two sisters Marilyn McCarde of Washington and Kathy Wood of Arizona; one brother Gene Shetler; Roslyn’s children Julie Holeman of Moses Lake, Jason Swank of Colorado and Brian DeCamp of Texas and numerous grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his stepbrother Nick Clouter and his parents Walter Lee Shetler and Betty Jean Hayes.

A viewing will be held on Aug. 27, 2022, at Kayser’s Chapel, Moses Lake from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A celebration of life and full military honors will be held at the American Legion in Moses Lake at a later date.
