Taking cover
MOSES LAKE — Go outside and take a look at the landscape around you. What do you see? Some houses most likely, maybe a natural water feature and hills off in the distance. Unknown to some eastern Washington residents is that hidden across the landscape there is a rich history waiting to be shared with the world at large. That is where authors like Lee O'Connor step in to tell the secret stories that often times go untold.

If you are a bass fisherman that loves the "topwater" bite, now is the time to fish the Potholes Reservoir. If the term "toilet-flush" means the noise when a jumbo bass explodes on a topwater bait then this summer at Potholes is for you. Now is the time to steal a day from work and get out here on the reservoir and fish the sand dunes for bass or hit the rock-piles on the south end of the lake for smallmouth! Anglers along the face of the dam, and down the Lind Coulee arm are reporting 50 fish days. The Sand Dunes give an angler all the opportunity to catch a 7 lb. Largemouth. The sun has been a blazing this past week so remember to hydrate! Temperatures are planning to stay around the 90's all week.

Walleye fishing on Potholes Reservoir has been amazing using blade baits. The best way to do this is by culling in 44 to 56 feet of water. The Rainbow Trout fishing is also really hot right now. Trout up to 28 inches have been landed behind the MarDon Office this past week. And we are hearing reports of trout being caught off Medicare Beach as well.
