Vera Jean (Nuss) Tolson

Vera Jean (Nuss) Tolson, 76, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away at Central Washington Hospital on November 11, 2010. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 at the Rick Nuss home, 4506 W. Lakeshore Drive, Moses Lake. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's chapel of memories. Vera was born in Denver, Colorado to Harold and Gerturde (Dolly) Falk Stern on August 24, 1934 and raised in Sterling, Colorado along with her sister Donna Stern Fritzler. As a youth she enjoyed helping with the family Creamery Business. Vera was proud of representing her high school band as the head drum majorette. After high school Vera attended cosmotology college and later worked as a beautician.

On May 8, 1953 Vera married Vernon Nuss. They farmed in the Longmont, Colorado area where they were blessed with three children, Rick, Steve, and Kay. In 1964 the Nuss family moved their farming business to Moses Lake. Vera also worked as a secretary for several years.

Vera loved travel, dancing, cooking and most of all just being Mom. Vera was a sorority member, Lady Elks, and Life Member of Eastern Star. She also enjoyed her friends at the Eagles and the V.F.W.

Vera is survived by her children Rick (Debe) Nuss of Moses Lake, Steve Nuss of Moses Lake, and Kay Nuss of Graham, WA: also by grandchildren, Melissa Nuss, Spokane, WA, Eric Nuss, Seattle, WA; 3 great grandchildren, Tyler, Jacey, and Aiden Womack.
