Ritzville author, poet speaks at museum Wednesday
MOSES LAKE — Author and poet Hank Buchmann will read selections of his poetry, from his new book “The Homing,” and from his Western novels at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Moses Lake Museum & Art Center.

Grant County Fair opens Tuesday
MOSES LAKE — The FFA and 4-H competitors, the Boy and Girl Scouts and Camp Fire participants are putting the finishing touches on their projects. The carnival rides are going up. The rodeo stock is being trucked in. The gates open for the Grant County Fair Tuesday morning, and the fair continues through Saturday.
Cowboy Breakfast set for Friday
MOSES LAKE — Keeping with the Old West tradition, the Grant County Fair and Moses Lake Roundup kick off with a good breakfast. The annual Cowboy Breakfast will be served from 7 to 10 a.m. Friday at Sinkiuse Square, next to the Moses Lake Post Office.

Ron Graff, 79, a longtime resident of Moses Lake, Wash., passed away on July 31, 2017 at Samaritan Hospital from complications due to a stomach aneurysm. He was surrounded by family.

This week we are going to talk about delphinium, also called larkspur. We have gotten several questions on this plant last year, especially from farmers and ranchers, as they realize that this plant is toxic to livestock and asked if we go after this one.
Circus raises questions about animal acts
The Culpepper & Meriweather Circus is making the rounds in the Northwest, having visited Cle Elum and Kittitas this past week. Soap Lake was their stop in Grant County last night. Organizers tout the event as a one-ring, big top circus that’s been showcased on National Geographic Explorer’s TV series, Entertainment Tonight, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune and Arizona Highways Magazine.
