Floyd Edward Bales

Floyd Edward Bales, 82, of Moses Lake, WA passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at St. Joseph Care Center, Spokane, WA. He was born to Thomas and Golda (Klontz) Bales in Bronaugh, MO on September 25, 1927. Shortly after Floyd’s birth, the Bales family moved to Joseph, OR where he grew up, attended school and joined the Air Force. He was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska as an airplane mechanic. Floyd returned to the Wallowa, Oregon area where he met Colleen Martin, married and had a son, Dan Bales. Floyd adopted his wife’s son from a previous marriage, Mike and they made their home in Wallowa, working in the logging industry. The family moved to Anderson, CA where Floyd continued to drive logging truck. They later divorced, he remarried and moved to Alaska. He primarily worked in the logging and timber business but also spent time as a purchasing agent, a mechanic in food processing equipment manufacturing and in farming.

Patricia Ann Trujillo, 71, of Moses Lake passed away unexpectedly Sept. 9, 2022, at the hospital in Wenatchee, halfway through her first round of chemo and radiation. Patti grew up in Minnesota then moved to Moses Lake in 2000. Patti worked at Columbia Basin Herald for the last 21 years. When she wasn’t working she was spending time with family or friends, playing cribbage, having a barbecue or getting a Dairy Queen Blizzard. Patti had some health issues but in July 2022 she found out she had lung cancer. She was terrified because she had seen her own daughter fight and lose a battle to cancer in 2005, but she was determined and ready to fight. Sadly, her heart just wasn’t strong enough.

Frank M. Gleason, 75, was born in Ellensburg, Washington, May 2, 1947, to Earl and Hazel (Blinston) Gleason. After a long battle with IPF (lung disease), he passed away at home on October 9, 2022, surrounded by his family. Frank attended Kittitas High School where he graduated in 1965. He signed up for the draft and enlisted in the Army and was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas from 1966 to 1968. He later moved to Moses Lake in 1977 where he worked for Boeing, Basic American, Busby, Lamb Weston and he did heating and air conditioning on his own time. Most recently he worked for Western Polymer where he retired in 2017, working maintenance...
