Willadene (Willie) Livingston

Willadene (Willie) Livingston, a long time resident of Othello, WA, passed away peacefully at her home in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 15th.   Born on April 6th, 1925 near Fairbury Nebraska, she was the youngest of five siblings.  After moving to Powell, Wyoming with her family, she met E.J. (Mike) Livingston who was serving in the area for the CCC.  They married in Tacoma in 1945 where Willie finished nursing school and earned her degree as a Registered Nurse while Mike served in the Marines during the War. Their first child, Sally Ann, was born in Tacoma.  They soon moved to Huntsville, TX, where Mike completed college while Willie worked at the local hospital.  Their second child, Michael Elwyn, was born in Huntsville before the family returned to Washington State in the mid fifties. Mike's work for Peoples National Bank took them to the Soap Lake and Ephrata area and the family settled in Othello in 1956.  Willie enjoyed being a mother and homemaker, and they had their third child, Lisa Marie here.  She also enjoyed playing a lot of bridge and hosting parties at the family home.  After Mike passed away in 1968, Willie worked at Othello Community Hospital and also volunteered with many Red Cross blood drives.  Her passion for reading led her to serve on the local library board.  Family was the center of her world.  Her daughter, Sally Elmore (Dan), preceded her in death in 2009. She is survived by her son, Michael Livingston (Jana) and daughter Lisa Livingston.  Her grandchildren, who were the light of her life, include Danielle Duty, Erin Meyer, Brandon Livingston, Brianne Cardenas, Brittney Livingston and Alexandra Livingston and eight great-grandchildren.  The family would like to extend their gratitude to Uvaldina Escamilla for her gentle care of Willie during the past year.  The support and services of Assured Hospice is also much appreciated.   A private service was held on Saturday, July 21st at Bess Hampton Memorial Gardens in Othello.  The family asks that you consider donations to the Friends of the Othello Library, 101 E. Main St., Othello, WA 99344.  Funeral arrangements were handled by Danekas Funeral Home.

Maria K. Janzen

Maria K. Janzen (47) was a happy go lucky, live your life kinda gal. Like her father, no one was a stranger; she treated everyone like a long lost friend. Her greatest gift in life was always trying to help people and animals. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother; doing all she could to support, love and protect those she loved. To her friends and family, her laughter was her trademark. You could hear it anywhere and know who it was without even seeing her. Although it will be a little quieter around here; it will be that much louder in heaven. Maria Kay Janzen entered this world on July 23, 1965 to Herb and Terry Janzen in Ritzville, WA. She was the youngest of six children. To us, she was Gia and sometimes the Gia Monster. She died unexpectedly on the early morning of November 6th, 2012 in Ritzville. She grew up in Ritzville and graduated from Ritzville High School in 1983. On September 28 , 1983, Maria and Duane welcomed their daughter Nicole Bailes into their lives. Maria married Duane Bailes on October 24, 1984 in Portland, OR. Maria and Duane were married 9 years. In 1993 Maria met Simon Tedrow, they were married on December 1, 1996. They were married for 3 years. Maria would then live the rest of her days in Ritzville, WA. On May 5, 2000 she met Mark Anderson and together they were raising his daughter Hannah. They continued their life together until her untimely death. She leaves behind a loving daughter, Nicole Bailes and future son in law, Mike Stromberger; two grandchildren: Taylor Davey and Jonathan Stromberger; her parents: Herb and Terry Janzen, sisters: Chris (Roger) Smith and Debi (Thomas) Balfe; brothers: Orris (Teresa) Janzen and Leslie (Carolyn) Janzen; many nieces, nephew; her companion Mark Anderson and his daughter Hannah Anderson. She was preceded in death by her brother: Ronald Janzen and grandparents: Peter and Mary Janzen. Memorial Services are scheduled for Saturday November 17, 2012 at Danekas Funeral Home 207 E Main in Ritzville at 11:00 a.m.. Private inurnment is planned at Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Maria K Janzen Memorial Fund, for her grandchildren, at any US Bank. Danekas Funeral Home and Crematory-Ritzville is entrusted with arrangements.
